McNeil Consumer Healthcare Announces Voluntary Recall of Certain OTC Infants’ and Children’s Products

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

In response to an FDA news release, Live Oak Pharmacy has pulled all liquid infant’s and children’s Tylenol®, Motrin®, Zyrtec®, and Benadryl® products from the shelves. McNeil Consumer Healthcare working with the FDA has issued the voluntary recall because “some of these products may not meet required quality standards.”

McNeil recommends, as a precaution, that parents and caregivers should not administer these medications to their children.

Parents and caregivers can bring these medications to Live Oak Pharmacy to be disposed of as part of our medication “take-back” program. These medications along with unused or expired medications can be disposed of in an eco-friendly manner. Download a medication “take-back” form here.

Live Oak Pharmacy also carries generic versions of these products which are not included as part of the recall.
