AUSTIN, TX (October 26, 2010) – Everyone is talking about hormones nowadays, from the fictional Samantha Jones, played by Kim Cattrall, of Sex and the City 2, which is being released today on DVD and Blueray to evening news anchor Katie Couric. Known in the movie as the “Hormone Whisper”, Cattrall’s character will do anything to “trick her body into thinking it is younger” as she makes her way through the “menopause maze.” Last week, Couric reported the results of a new study just released that states that the linked correlation of breast cancer and hormone replacement therapy is more likely to develop breast cancer that will be more advanced and deadlier. The “menopause maze” sounds as if it is more difficult to navigate which is why Live Oak Pharmacy is hosting a women’s hormone event this evening, Tuesday, October 26 to talk about the sexier and serious sides of hormones.
“There is a lot of confusion regarding the benefits of hormones and the results of this study as it relates to women’s health” said Nathan Pope, Pharm.D., Co-Owner and Pharmacist, “this particular study focused on the synthetic form of prescribed hormone replacement, Prempro, conjugated equine estrogens and medroxyprogesterone.
