The Great American Medicine Chest Challenge

Tuesday, November 9th, 2010

This coming Saturday, November 13, is the Great American Medicine Chest Challenge! Live Oak Pharmacy can take your unused or expired medications* and dispose of them in an environmentally safe way! Seven of the top 11 drugs most commonly abused by high school seniors are either prescribed or bought over the counter. To minimize the danger of minors getting a hold of prescription drugs, Live Oak Pharmacy’s co-owner and Director of Pharmacy, Nathan Pope, Pharm.D., advises patients and customers to take an inventory of what’s in their medicine cabinets and clean them out often, particularly with regard to expired meds.

Live Oak Pharmacy’s Medication Take-Back Program is $5 per pound and free to existing customers.
