help I have a blister

The Cap 10k is this Sunday and we couldn’t think of a better product to feature this week! We hope you don’t have a blister, but to be prepared, consider stopping by Live Oak Pharmacy to pick one up. Although these bandages look like ordinary bandages, they’re actually made of hydrocolloid which (according to help remedies Web site) is a “futuristic material that works nicely with blisters.”

But more than that, help remedies packaging is good for the environment! Made from molded paper pulp and corn derived bio plastic . . . the packaging is biodegradable! And with Earth Day just weeks away – another great reason to feature this nifty little product!

Speaking of Earth Day, Live Oak Pharmacy is proud to partner with the Hill Country Conservancy! Come to Live Oak Pharmacy on April 22nd and we’ll donate 5% of our sales that day back to a variety of non-profit organizations (Hill Country Conservancy, Sierra Club, Austin Green Art, Friends of Barton Springs Pool, Save Barton Creek Association, Sustainable Food Center, and Austin Film Festival). For more information about the “Give 5% to Mother Earth” Campaign click here.

Live Oak Pharmacy welcomes people from all walks of life and wellness. We believe that applied knowledge is power, in standing behind each and every product and service we offer, that sometimes listening is the best medicine, in the partnership between you, your pharmacist and your health care practitioner, and in seeking the science behind the claims. But most importantly, we believe that everything we do is customized for your heath.

Capitol 10K Fun Run / Walk

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

We hope you will walk with us in the Capitol 10K Fun Run / Walk this coming April 11.

The Cap 10k benefits Meals on Wheels and More! and is a great way to give back to the community and it’s good for your body!

There are many benefits to walking . . .

  • Regular physical activity reduces the risk of many adverse health outcomes.
  • Some physical activity is better than none.
  • Most health benefits occur with at least 150 minutes a week of moderate-intensity physical activity, such as brisk walking.
  • Health benefits occur for children and adolescents, young and middle-aged adults, older adults, and those in every studied racial and ethnic group.
  • The health benefits of physical activity occur for people with disabilities.
  • The benefits of physical activity far outweigh the possibility of adverse outcomes*

If you haven’t already registered for the walk, please do so now. You’ll enjoy a lower price for registration ($25) when you register before February 28th.
